Information you give us

• Consultation and health information — the concerns, goals, photos, medical history, medications, and other health details you choose to share so we can assess your skin and recommend appropriate care. We treat this information as confidential health information (see Health Information below).
• Appointment and payment information — the services you book, appointment history, and billing details. Payment card numbers are processed by our payment processor and are not stored on our website.
• Communications — messages you send us by email, text, phone, web form, or social media, and your communication preferences, including whether you have opted in to text messages.

Information collected automatically

• Technical and usage information — IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, and the date and time of your visit.
• Cookies and similar technologies — described in Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising below.

How we use your information

• To respond to consultation requests and prepare treatment recommendations.
• To schedule, confirm, and remind you of appointments, and to provide follow-up care instructions.
• To deliver safe, personalized treatments and maintain accurate medical records.
• To process payments, memberships, and gift cards.
• To send you the text messages you have opted in to receive (see Text Messaging).
• To send service updates and, if you have opted in, promotions and educational content. You can opt out at any time.
• To understand how our website is used, measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and improve our website, services, and patient experience.
• To protect the security of our systems and comply with legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.

Health information

Health information you share with us — through consultation forms, intake questionnaires, photos, or in person — is used only to evaluate and provide your care, to communicate with you about that care, and as permitted or required by law. We store this information in secure, access-controlled clinical systems.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, understand how it is used, and measure and deliver advertising. Specifically:

• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager help us understand site traffic and how visitors interact with our pages.
• The Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) helps us measure whether our advertising is effective and may be used to show you relevant ads on Meta’s platforms.

These tools may collect your IP address, device and browser identifiers, and the pages you view on our site, and may combine that information with data they hold about you. Google and Meta process this information under their own privacy policies. This activity may be considered “targeted advertising” under Colorado law.

Your choices: you can limit or opt out of this tracking by

• emailing us at appointments@skindenver.co with the subject line “Opt out of targeted advertising”;
• adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies;
• managing your ad preferences directly with Meta and Google.

Who has access to your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Access to your information is limited to the following:

• Our team and service providers acting on our behalf — the tools that help us run the practice, including our electronic medical record and booking system, secure intake forms, patient communication tools, and payment processors. These providers may access personal information only to perform services for us and are required to protect it.
• Professional and legal purposes — our medical, legal, accounting, and insurance advisors, and regulators, courts, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our patients, staff, or others.
• Business transfers — if the practice is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may be transferred to the successor, subject to this Policy.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you choose to receive text messages, you can opt in to transactional messages (such as appointment reminders, order confirmations, and account notifications), marketing messages (such as special offers, discounts, and product updates), or both, using separate checkboxes on our forms. Both checkboxes are optional, and consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and staff training. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal and professional record-keeping requirements (medical records are retained for the periods required by Colorado law), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion of your information, subject to medical record-keeping and other legal requirements;
• obtain a copy of your information in a portable format;
• opt out of targeted advertising, as described above;
• opt out of marketing emails and texts at any time using the unsubscribe link or by replying STOP.

Requests to access, amend, or obtain copies of your medical records are handled under applicable health-privacy law and our medical-records procedures; please contact us and we will guide you through the process.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors through our website. Minors may receive care only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

Third-party links and services

Our website links to other services, including our online booking system, gift-card store, Instagram, and TikTok. Their privacy practices are their own; we encourage you to review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on our website or communicated to you directly. Our Terms of Service, including the Mobile Terms of Service, apply alongside this Policy.
